Campus Life Services is Certified LivingGreen!

I learned two new words today:

Sustainability Rockstar -|səˌstānəˈbilitē| |räk| |stär|

noun

1 - One who excels beyond expectations of environmental dedication while making it look easy.

2 - Amy Powell and Campus Life Services.

GOOS - |goōs|

abbv.

1 - Good On One Side. Referring to a one-side paper reuse bin near each public printer and/or copier.

2 - What exists next to printers in Campus Life Services retail offices at Mission Bay.

UCSF Campus Life Services Retail office at Mission Bay scored a 93% and didn’t even bat an eyelash. Epic.

The Alliance to Save Energy’s PowerSave Green Campus Program is a student-driven energy efficiency workforce education and training program that generates actual energy savings, and trains the next generation of energy efficiency professionals. Since 2004, the program has expanded to 16 campuses throughout California, including community colleges, and employs approximately 70 student interns each year.

The Green Campus Program has been a successful partnership between PG&E, Alliance to Save Energy, and UCSF to encourage peer to peer interface with student interns to effect energy saving behavior changes across UCSF's diverse campuses.
